Even if parts of one’s body or face are shown in a dream to be distorted or abnormal, such a dream is not usually referring to the physical body. Our own idea or image of what son of person we are is translated in dreams into our body form. We might dream our face looks subnormal mentally, or our body has strange areas. This refers to an internal sense of ourself not having developed to our full potential, or of psychological hurts having distorted some aspect of ourself, such as our ability to reach out for help. See body.
The abnormal or strange traditionally has possessed magical powers, possibilities or opportunities. In dreams we tend to lose the logical scientific side of ourselves and to tap into the more aware open side. Such things used to be beyond understanding and, therefore, appear abnormal and, even today, can make us aware of potential beyond the obvious. In dreams abnormality often represents something that we instinctively feel is wrong, not balanced properly or out of kilter. With an understanding of spirituality we are more able to put the balance right.
Psychological / emotional perspective: An awareness of abnormality alerts us to the fact that we should be paying particular attention to areas in life that are not in line with the way we feel they should be.
To dream of a giant, for instance, can indicate that our attention is being drawn to particular issues to do with size or deformity. There is something in our life that may be too big or too distorted to handle.
Material aspects: If the abnormality is extraordinary, such as an abnormal feeling or sound, it is the strangeness that needs to be explored. Inappropriate behaviour or distortion of what we consider to be normal can give us information helpful in managing a situation in everyday life.
Gives gender - specific: In the balance within us of masculine and feminine, both men and women can find that, as they reach for a better understanding of themselves, dreams bring to the surface traits of character which we consider to be abnormal or deviant.
To dream of things that are not normal, and I mean really “Not normal” like a bird with tentacles or a car that is half horse, then this means that very soon you will have a sound solution to your current problems that are weighing on your mind.
If the dream does not reflect waking reality, but includes images such as trees that are purple or a dog that purrs, then one is struggling to come up with a solution to difficultto-understand problems.
Dreams of something or someone abnormal are about your feelings and attitudes about fitting in. Keep in mind that which is abnormal can also be a gift in disguise once it has been embraced. See Integration Dreams.

To dream of anything that is not normal--i.e., a horse with feathers, a woman who hops like a kangaroo, an airplane flying backward, etc., means you will shortly have a pleasing solution to your worries.
If you dream of fantastic things, like a cat with horns, it means that a sound and happy solution to your problems is on its way.
