Example: ‘I am in a large, airy cave-like room. I am pregnant and wearing a white gown. I am lying on my back on a flat slablike surface with my legs drawn up’ (Joan D). Prenatal life; the vagina; the process of reproduction and birth. Also an entrance to our unconscious; in some dreams a real contact with the forces of our evolutionary journey. We may find in the cave a fear of madness or being lost; a sense of meeting the divine; our own traumas or destiny; a meeting with death and rebirth. See catacomb, crypt; unconscious.
This can be a secret and difficult area to get to in life.

A depressed situation under unwise submission
Dreams incorporating caves are metaphoric of getting in touch with the inner self. These gateways at first are scary but in due course, after exploration, can become safe havens.
In common with many underground symbols, the cave represents spiritual shelter or sanctuary, initiation and rebirth. Meditating on the image of an inner cave gives insight into how we tackle life events.
Psychological / emotional perspective: Passing through a cave signifies a change of state, transition and a deeper understanding of our own negative impulses.
Material aspects: As with the catacombs, the cave represents a doorway into the unconscious. While initially the cave may be frightening, an exploration can reveal strong contact with our own inner selves.
Gives gender - specific: In both men’s and women’s dreams a cave will represent exploring the subconscious, but in a woman’s dream she is more likely to sense something greater than herself whereas initially a man will begin to appreciate his own intuitive senses.
To dream that you are walking in a dark cave represents your subconscious mind or the attempt to seek out shelter. It signifies that you are enduring bad fortune or an argument that wasn’t foreseen.
Vision: Crawling into a cave: being overwhelmed by a present situation. Living in a cave: you have become unpopular. Digging a cave: a death in your family or circle of friends. Coming out of a dark cave back into the light: a long period of deprivation (unemployment, etc.) is slowly coming to an end; your economic situation is improving.

(Cavern; Woman) Entering a cave in one’s dream means reaching safety and trust in God Almighty, or it could mean being saved from one’s enemy.
A cave in a dream also represents a woman,jealousy, swerving, dodging, or a good luck with one’s friends.
A cave in a dream also represents one’s shelter, guardian, mother, father, teacher, Imam, wife, business or trade.
A cave in a dream also means hiding one’s secrets and for a person looking for work, it means finding ajob or working for people in authority and ending of one’s trouble, or it could mean recovering from an illness, release from jailor longevity.

If there is a cave-in, you will experience some unexpected misfortune or disagreement.

If you escape from the Cave, all will go well, though you must expect trouble at first. But if you fall into a Cave, or fail to get out, then expect business worries.
To see a cave indicates that the dreamer is faced with many dilemmas.

Dreaming of this prehistoric hiding place can represent a respite, a place of a rich inner life, hidden treasures, and your need for safety. You will be forgotten by someone you care for if you dream of entering a cave.
General Meaning: A season of obscurity but also of intimacy with the Lord. In a negative sense, a cave is a picture of trying to escape the pressures of life.
• Positive: Although it might not seem that a cave can be a positive place, it does speak of a place of being protected and hidden away. I remember the Lord giving me a vision once where he drew me to a cave.
• The cave was empty except for me and Him. He said that here He would teach me everything that I needed for the next phase of my spiritual walk.
For a season things would quiet down and I would not be involved with a lot of people, but that this was of Him.
• It was indeed one of the most precious times of my life where I came to know the Lord Jesus face to face at a new level. It was a time where He brought the Scriptures to life for me and gave me a new impartation of his love.
• So if you have a vision or dream of the Lord drawing you aside, this is a good thing. It speaks of a time of seclusion that is temporary. However it will be a time of much growth for you. Even Elijah experienced the still voice of the Lord in the cave.
• 1 Kings 19:9 And he came there to a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of the LORD [Yahweh] [came] to him, and he said to him, What are you doing here, Elijah?
It has been our experience in personal ministry to often see someone we pray for tied to a cave wall. This indicates that they have hidden themselves away from the real world, usually because of hurts in the past. I speak more of this under the symbol “Bars” • It also speaks of a place of hiding away from the stress and the pressures that are surrounding you.
The only way to overcome is to step out in the name of Jesus and to overcome..
Seeing a dark, underground cave generally spells danger. However, a cave on a hill or mountain indicates that you’ll soon have new opportunities.
If you dream you’re inside a cave, you’ll experience frustration. See the cave from the outside, and your situation will gradually improve.
