Our false self we put on in meeting others. Latent qualities we can express or don when needed—a mother might be a tigress when her children are threatened, but a meek person otherwise, her tigress would not be ‘false’. Ego less.

A mask can represent shame about your authentic self, fear that you are not good enough, powerful enough, or strong enough, and that you are unwilling to be authentic and naked.
